Task 6

It is clear to me that the idea of a single global currency is an excellent ideal to work towards. There can be no doubt that trade and travel would be vastly easier. On the other hand I believe that it would cause problems today.
The benefits of a single currency can be seen with the use in Europe of the Euro. Whenever you are travelling between countries using the Euro, the problems of currency changing and exchange rates are history. Similarly business between countries using the Euros is so much easier; no more worrying about exchange rate risk and pricing. Everyone‛s money is the same. The same thing is true with the US dollar. Most countries do not use the US dollar but it is accepted in many places. There are many countries that you can travel to and just take US dollars to use. At present though a global currency would be impossible. Firstly most countries would not accept the idea. Secondly all countries are in different economic states. Some are economically very strong and some are in a state of collapse with inflation ruining the economy. Such countries could not be brought into a world currency as it would cause massive financial instability worldwide. So it is clear that a global currency would indeed cause some serious problems.

So, in conclusion I see a global currency as a future ideal but it will not happen in my lifetime. It would make trade and travel much easier but the problems it would cause nowadays would be insurmountable.

Portfolio task 4

Some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taught to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Teaching children using correct ways is very important for their future life. Some parents and teachers think that it is more important to show kids how to fight for their place in the life. Another opinion is that the most important skill is to be able to work together with other people. Let's discuss these two views.

A competition makes people to work harder to achieve their goals. If there is limited number of places in university, only the best students will get those places. For example, you can only get into some universities if your GPA score is not less than 3.5 from 4.0. So, competition is a good thing when it is used for good reasons.

Cooperating is necessary for people in some situations. When you need to do some complicated job fast, it is important to have a good command of skilled people, who used to do that kind of job together. For example, if you have to develop a big software project, you need to have a group of developers with good professional and team players skills. Teaching children to be a part of the team gives them skills for their future works.

It is very important for children to become team players. It is also important for them to be able to win. So, both of those skills are important in different situations.

More than 70% of young drivers use mobile phones in a dangerous way. Some people use them for chatting, reading and talking. In this essay I will view my opinion about how to prevent using mobile phones while driving.

Most people are not able to focus on two things, so using mobile phone while driving is a significant problem. There are proper ways to use the mobile phones. I hear daily that accidents occur because people are using mobiles in a very mistaken way. Successive accidents always waste time and money. Research shows that bad news received by mobile phones cause’s people to drive in a dangerous way. In the UAE there are traffic fines it you don’t abide by the rules of using mobile phones. Some people switch off mobile phones because the health is the most important thing.

On the other hand using mobile phones sometimes is very important, especially if you need help, but there are some rules for using mobile phone. The first rule is making sure it is a hand free phone that is set up while driving. Secondly keep the conversation short. Finally if the call is distracting you from driving, you can stop if you have a very important call.

In conclusion, there are many problems if we use mobile phones while driving like accidents and scaring people, so all people must learn how to use mobile phones in a good way.

Writing portfolio 2

The first chart shows us the reasons why people study and the second chart shows the employer support according to 5 age groups.

Generally, it can be seen that more young people are studying to improve their career, but after 40 years people study to raise the interest. The employers support is very high for those who are under 29. 80% of students under 26 to improve their careers. Students between 40 and 49 are equal in their reason for studying.

The second chart is about employer support by age group. There is very high support when people are under 26 and the lowest is between 30 and 39. Employees over 49 have only 44% of support.

In the end, more students under 40 study to improve their career. Employer support for under 30s is more than employees support for over 30s. In my opinion employs over 49 need more support.
